Labels obscure map when measuring a path

The labels that appear when measuring a path in BaseCamp (4.1.2) often obscure the part of the map where I want to extend the path to; is there an option to disable the labels?

Unfortunately not ... but many have complained so maybe we'll see a change at some time.
