Hiding waypoint information, what am I missing?

Hi there, I have to be missing something simple but I cannot figure out how to hide the waypoint information of my tracks so I can see the actual track.
As soon as I zoom below 7Km, every waypoint has a description with a lat/long/elev/speed which covers the width of the map and blocks everything underneath.
How do I turn this information/C#%p off.

Feel free to flame, just tell me how...

I am not sure if I correctly understand the issue.

But you can select all your waypoints, open them and set the display to symbol only.

Where does the track come from? Normally a track doesn't contain waypoints; it's just a single line. Maybe you downloaded a track that was converted to a series of waypoints (in that case: technically it isn't a track anymore)
