Multiple maps? Inability to show one at a time.

I have made a circular 2000 mile route to estimate a journey route.

Using the same waypoints and additional intermediate ones I want to plan sections of the total route in more detail. There may be some 6 sections and a ferry is involved.

So far I have made the route to the ferry and the total route which follows that as 2 separate routes. However, both routes appear at the same time in Basecamp. I am concerned that when I start making the sections, which will mostly follow the whole route path, it will be lost in the whole route path.

Is there any way the choose which route appears on the Basecamp map from a selection of several?

I bet it is something obvious but I can't see the wood for the trees?

Following on from multiple maps for a route:

Is it possible to have different profiles for each route segment?

For example, I don't want to wander through the countryside on the way to the ferry because that is my home turf but after that I really need to be able to choose countryside/slow or main roads/fast for segments of the route.

It seems to me that once you choose a profile you are stuck with it when planning. That is a great drawback if you want to have a stock of routes over the years which may be cycle, car or hiking to re-use as and when. Maybe you need to have different instances of Basecamp?
