Dragging waypoints

I cannot seem to get how to drag/move waypoints in basecamp.

Anyone provide some basic help?
  • You need to select the Move tool from the Drawing tools toolbar, it looks like button with an arrow pointing to the middle of it.

If the toolbar isn't showing go to View, Toolbars, Drawing Tools and select it.

Then select the waypoint you want to move, click on the Move tool to select it then hover over the waypoint until you see a small black circle on the waypoint, you can then drag it to where you want it.

I can not get this to work on a via point.

I have a "via point" from a route that I imported from MapSource. The via point is in the wrong place and I need to move it. I deleted it from the route in BC but the Icon still shows on the map. Since this is a via point it does not show up on my list of waypoints (???) .. so that I can remove or move it.

I suggest you start a new thread for your issue. (The Garmin developers might skip this one since the original post is old). It really is a different problem from the original topic.

There isn’t much forum members can contribute without seeing the import file. The fact you do not see a waypoint in My Collections is consistent with the Via point in the imported route not being created from a waypoint. You could check to see if the Via point is still there after a program restart and also try accessing the route thru My Collections to see if it is still in the properties list.

via points don't show up in the list in the left pain, as you've found out. Double click on the route on right click and select Properties. All the points in your route will be displayed including via points. Click on the via point you want to delete and press the delete key, or right click and select delete.

You can also select the route on the map, pickup the eraser tool, looks like an eraser with a point, and move the tool over the via point to delete and click.

Thanks for the eraser hint. and the clarification on via point. I read the sticky on the differences but overlooked that point.
