I'm trying to transition from Mapsource to Basecamp, but it seems that some features that are simple to use in Mapsource aren't so simple in Basecamp. Is there a quick and easy way to find a street address in a distant city? I can find the city easily, but the street address search gives me seemingly random results. I would expect to be able to do this in one step, but I can't seem to find a way to do that.
So far, Basecamp doesn't appear to be a suitable replacement for Mapsource for driving; am I wrong?

You should be able to just type in the street and city in the search box.

As a test, I just tried to type "585 juniper, chandler, az" in the search box it works for me regardless of where I am on the map. (CN NA NT)

What are you trying to find?

I think I have discovered the problem. For some reason, Basecamp was using City Navigator North America V6, which is quite old; I don't even know how it got on there. Once I changed it to 2013.3, I'm having better luck. Thank you........

Can Fenix workouts be loaded to Garmin Connect, as well as Bas Camp?

Well, I'm having somebetter luck. Try 125 St Johns Rd, Fletcher, NC It seems to be ignoring the "st", which is not short for "street", but for "Saint" It's Saint Johns Road, and it's definately on the map.

Try "125 St Johns, Fletcher, NC".

However, BaseCamp 4.1.2 finds "125 St Johns Rd, Fletcher, NC" as well on CN NA NT 2013.4 for me.

That's strange. Neither work with 2013.3...

It just won't find this address, no matter how I enter it. I'm now using 2013.4 and having no luck, so I don't trust it to work for other addresses either. Funny how Mapsource nails it instantly every time. If I use Map Updater, can I continue to use Mapsource with current maps?

Uh Oh, when the developers start saying things like "that's strange", we know we're in real trouble!.......;)

Yes. As long as you tell Map Updater to install to both PC and device.

It just won't find this address, no matter how I enter it. I'm now using 2013.4 and having no luck, so I don't trust it to work for other addresses either. Funny how Mapsource nails it instantly every time. If I use Map Updater, can I continue to use Mapsource with current maps?

Ok, I'm on a Mac and using a very old map CNNA 2009 but I can find it if I use a two step process. First I open the search options and start to type Fletcher into the field and I am rewarded with a highly populated drop down list containing most of the Fletchers in the U.S. and I double click on the one in NC which causes my map window to zoom there. (Don't try actually completing the word Fletch, just do part of it otherwise this doesn't work) Step 2: enter 125 st johns road into the option search box and it finds it.
