BaseCamp 4.1.2 is available at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435. The update from within BaseCamp should also work.

This is a maintenance release, so it's pretty much all bug fixes. No new features were implemented for this version.

The list of changes:
  • Fixed an issue with Basestation mode.
  • Fixed an issue where BaseCamp would not remember the positioning of the toolbars correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Custom POI symbols from POI files where incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue with the address search.
  • Fixed an issue where refreshing a search was using the last location on the map, not the current one.
  • Fixed an issue where Cutting (Ctrl-X) a photo on a device would delete the photo and prevent the user from pasting it.
  • Fixed an issue with some Asian language map products.
  • Fixed an issue with deleting track points.
  • Fixed an issue with route creation in a folder.
  • Fixed an issue where the hand tool was not always set as the default tool.
  • Fixed some menu inconsistencies between find results, context menus, and map popup menus.
  • Changed translations of Walking and Hiking activity profiles in Dutch.

@Falagar: What about the old angry problem with loosing files when transfered from Basecamp to the edge (800). Will it be solved by BC or is it a firmware problem of the Edge? Can't find a competent answer in the Forum.

Could you remind me of what the exact issue was? With steps to reproduce, please.

Both ways to copy new files into Newfiles in the Edge(800) don't work without fault:
    1. copying GPX or TCX with Fileexplorer manualy
    2. tranfering files via BC
After switching on the Edge all files in NEWFILES ought to be new calculated as .fit and the original files will be there deleted.
Unfortunately not all files are converted, some new fit are always missing.
After every transfer procedure the edge must be switched on and the results have to be controlled. All missing files have to be once more copied into newfiles, sometimes you need more than one trial.
Other users told me, that this problem doesnt appear with Mapsource.

Thanks again. What is the path you are browsing to for geotagging?

I have, I think, worked out what was tripping me up.

On the window that asks for the location of photos to geotag there is a text box for specifying the location. This text box is editable, but if you do edit it directly your edits are ignored and it uses the original value for the location. Using the browse button works as expected.

Thanks so much for getting back to us. I can definitely reproduce this. I was just always using the Browse button and therefore never noticed what was going on.

Thanks again, that should be easy to fix.
  • It is available in Basecamp 4.2.0.4 beta for the UK and Canada also I think but not for other countries.
  • Basecamp 4.2.04 beta Playback function bug

There appears to be a bug in the Playback function in the Basecamp 4.2.04 beta code.. When I use the playback function in Basecamp 4.1.2 the route speed correctly varies as per the road it is traveling on.. I'm doing a playback of a route that contains a number of via points (both alerting and non alerting).

But in the beta version the indicated speed and movement of the vehicle indicator is quite erratic. For example, even when on an interstate route where the speed should be consistently 65 - 70mph, the speed will hang at 2.2mph for periods of time, then rapidly zoom up on 162+mph at times... This occurs even on open stretches midway in between distant via points...

I've made sure the route activity is set to a car. Although I usually set the time multiplier to 100x, the problem shows up irregardless of the time multiplier setting. It doesn't seem to matter which map set is being used. I have City Navigator North America 2009 (from my old 2610) and attach my new Nuvi 3597LMTHD so the City Navigator North America 2013.4 maps are available.. The routes are calculated using the 2013.4 maps..

btw thanks for fixing the duplicate display of highways (basecamp map + whatever other map selected) showing roads from both maps when at the detail level

    regards,
    Dan

We'll take a look at that. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
