BaseCamp 4.1.2 is available at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435. The update from within BaseCamp should also work.

This is a maintenance release, so it's pretty much all bug fixes. No new features were implemented for this version.

The list of changes:
  • Fixed an issue with Basestation mode.
  • Fixed an issue where BaseCamp would not remember the positioning of the toolbars correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Custom POI symbols from POI files where incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue with the address search.
  • Fixed an issue where refreshing a search was using the last location on the map, not the current one.
  • Fixed an issue where Cutting (Ctrl-X) a photo on a device would delete the photo and prevent the user from pasting it.
  • Fixed an issue with some Asian language map products.
  • Fixed an issue with deleting track points.
  • Fixed an issue with route creation in a folder.
  • Fixed an issue where the hand tool was not always set as the default tool.
  • Fixed some menu inconsistencies between find results, context menus, and map popup menus.
  • Changed translations of Walking and Hiking activity profiles in Dutch.

Now that was interesting but what's 46 kilometers give or take a few hundred meters) between friends?

    Dear Falagar.

    another case for search:
    Basecamp 4.1.2
Map: City navigator Europe NT 2013.4
    Map centre on screen approx N49 55.30, E 6 13.46, zoom level 2km
    Detail level highest:
Search for: roth an der our (which is small town in the centre of map) by entering the name in the top left box, hit <enter> and be surprised.
I hope this case will help to improve the search function for the future.

    Kind regards

Looks like there is some funny business going on with BaseCamp finding the wrong Roth. Thanks for letting us know.

    I'm running 4.1.2

I have an issue with routes calculating Total Time using multiple waypoints and Layover time.
I can change the Layover time on any of the waypoints in any route and the Total Time does not change.
With no Layover on any waypoints the Total Time for one of my routes is 8hr 25min.
Add an hour Layover to one of the waypoints and the Total Time still says 8hr 25min.
The Total Time should now be 9hrs 25min, but it is not.
The arrival and departure times for each waypoint are correct.

Are you allowing it to "Recalculate" or manually selecting "Recalculate"? It won't update until you do.

I always do a manual update.
It will not update by doing so!
The only thing it updates is the time of arrival & departure under the name of the waypoint.
The total time on the right does not update.
It does this in every route I have.

I think they are mis-leading us alittle... but if you look at each leg distance and time it looks like they are just adding up each leg "travel" times for totals... not the total "trip" time which would include the layovers... :(

Yes that does seem to be the case, but in my opinion, that's wrong! Total Time should include the layovers.

Another thing that chaps my hide is the Find/Search. Ok, is it Find or Search? Why the two different names for the same thing.
Back in a couple previous versions there was a Search Toolbar. What happened to it. It used to work very nice. Find /Search now is really confusing.
I did like the previous option to Find/Search for a partial name. Now a partial doesn't work like it used to. Most of the time it won't find what I'm looking
for and will list all sorts of places that aren't even close to what I'm looking for and the results are in a different part of the country instead of on the
    current map view.

Hopefully they will continue to add travel features that are more realistic to real travel planning, like layovers as multiple nights, not just 24 hrs... :-) until then I will continue to use MapPoint to do my real multi-day trip planning.. :-)

A search function I think is lacking is the ability to right click with the arrow on the map and get the option of nearest places with subcategories(lodging, food and drink etc). If I am looking for a motel or place to eat I do not want to scan through all the POIs to locate one. Mapsource offered these subcategories. I do not understand why it is not the same in BC.
  • A fresh install won't delete maps, routes etc. Data is held separately from the Basecamp program.

thanks for the advise (again) the reinstall worked fine and I did not loose any
    thing.
