BaseCamp 4.1.1 will not install

NOW FIXED...:rolleyes:
Running Win7-64 with all updates. When running the .exe for BaseCamp 4.1.1, I see the extraction window, and it completes to 100%, then I see a window that says install will take a few minutes. After I wait a little while, the rotating circle for busy goes away and then...nothing. Waiting for hours does not help. Deleting the version 4.0.2 of BaseCamp and trying install has not helped. Not closing the "wait window" and waiting for hours does not help. Advice?

Are you certain it hasn't installed? Check All programs, Garmin and see if it's listed there?

Thanks for the reply, but no, it is not in the Garmin folder in "all programs".

Did you run it from the website?

If so try downloading (not run) the following file to your desktop: http://www8.garmin.com/software/BaseCamp_411.exe and open it from there.

The only method I've tried is the downloaded way, several times. Typically, how long should the install take? What additional windows or permissions might I see if the install is going properly?

Only takes a minute or so, maybe less, to install. If it's not running when you've run the exe file on your PC then I can't think what else to suggest. Falagar may be along shortly with some help :confused:

OK, tail between legs, I've got 4.1.1 running now. Sheesh. Since Garmin express doesn't install map updates to the desktop applications, I had garminmapupdater running and waiting for later since it takes HOURS! Once I shut it down, the 4.1.1 update was able to launch. All better now. Thanks for your help. Now, let me get acquainted with BaseCamp!

Great ... have fun, BC can take a while to understand ... just think iTunes :)
