Trouble importing TOPO US 24k West DVD into Basecamp software

I've seen similar threads for this issue, but they were for older versions of base camp as well as mostly from sim users as opposed to the DVD. I installed the DVD on my up-to-date 2011 MacBook Pro, and was able to then upload the 24k west maps onto my Rino 655t, but I cannot find a way to import the maps into basecamp. From reading the threads it seems that they will not show up from plugging in my device either, so I'm not sure what to do. The only file I can find on my computer that was installed from the dvd (TOPO U.S. 24K West v2.gmap) is greyed out when I attempt to import it using basecamp itself. I'm already bummed that I had to spend an extra $100 to get ROUTABLE roads and trails (I thought when buying the Rino 655t that I was going to be able to pre-route my hikes), so I'm hoping that someone has an answer that will make me smile.
