Say I'm zoomed in to 200m on a waypoint. I select said waypoint and delete it. Then basecamp will select the next element on the list where that waypoint was, and you may end up zoomed out to 15km and hundreds of kilometers away.
I agree and I've complained about this behavior before. Many times when I'm making a route I just want to look at the properties of a way-point to see if it's the one I want. Just clicking on the way-point will cause BC to re-zoom and pan the map to put the way-point on the visible map. I wish it would just select the point and allowme to decide to "show on map". I can't remember if these was ever a response to my earlier comment on this behavior.
