Exported data in from format (need NAD 83)

Hello,

When I export selected data into a tab delineated text, my waypoints are coming out in the wrong format. I need them to be in NAD 83. I have gone into utilities, then options and changed the settings to be UTM and NAD 83.

How do I fix this?

Up thru version 4.1.1 this isn’t possible. The best way to accomplish your task is to use MapSource as a utility. Open both applications, select all your waypoints in BaseCamp, copy, switch to MapSource and paste.

If you’re a masochist, there is a way to get waypoint names and positions to the windows clipboard, but its not worth the effort.

To Garmin folks:
A text file doesn’t have the constraints of GPX file regarding position format. I would assume that behind the scenes positions are always in digital degrees/WGS84 format. What we see on the screen is the position output to the monitor via a conversion routine. The same method could be used in outputting to the text file, along with the position format and map datum in a header portion of the file.
