Can't install maps from Basecamp

I'm trying to install some topo maps on my Oregon 550 using Basecamp. I have the maps installed on Basecamp, and they show up there. I connect my 550 and go to 'Install Maps', but nothing happens. The map installer doesn't come up. I upgraded my Basecamp to Ver 4.1.1. Anyone know what is going on? I'm pretty new, but did install a topo for MN about a month ago. The maps I have came from File Depot as did the MN one. Is there a bug that anyone knows of?

It just seems like the Map Installer is not there.

Have you tried right clicking on the User data folder of the device and selecting 'Install maps on ..."?

If you haven't selected the device nothing will happen if you click on Maps, Install maps.

Yes, I've tried right clicking on the folder and selecting the Install Maps on..., no luck, tried from the Basecamp menu but that seems to be greyed out.

Don't know what else to suggest other than try removing then re-installing BC, it certainly works on my system (also 4.1.1).

Thanks for the response. Not sure if it is me or Basecamp, seeing a lot of threads about recent problems. Do you know if I remove and re-install Basecamp will I have to download the maps that I already have loaded in Basecamp.

No, it'll pick up where it left off, with all your maps, folders, lists etc

You can run MapInstall without BaseCamp running from your Program Files directory in the Start Menu.

If it did not get installed, it will not be there.

Thanks to all for the responses. I got it running I think. I finally did what I probably should have to begin, final fix seemed to be that I rebooted the computer. When it came back up, opened BC and the Map Installer ran. Now I have the maps transferred to my Oregon.

HELP PLEASE TOO the command Install Maps is greyed out on Basecamp--it obviously has worked in past as I have insatlled soem maps, ie MTb GB OSM map which works just fine;
I have downloaded latest version Basecamp, but command is still greyed out and inactive;
How do I get to install maps onto Basecmap now ? I`m wanting to install an OSM GB contours map for walking mapping..

Do you have the device selected in BaseCamp? If you have e.g. 'My Collection' selected, the 'Install Maps' command is greyed out.

And like others pointed out, you can always just run MapInstall without BaseCamp.
