Garmin Express - Software for Keeping Nuvi, Zumo and Dezl (And Some Others?) Updated

Is there going to be a forum created for Garmin Express or am I blind, and there's already one?

http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.html

I downloaded the Mac version of Express this morning and ran it with my Montana 650 connected. Looks interesting and useful, but it seems to have some issues. It saw the Montana and offered a Lifetime Map Update so I let that start. I then went to the Extras tab where it seemed to think that all the vehicles and voices were not compatible with the Montana, when I know at least many of them are compatible, because they're already on my Montana.

Is there any way to communicate with the developers? There's nothing I could find in the software or the Garmin Support site which tells me how.

Mike
  • Sorry, I forgot to say this was on a pc not a mac.

Confused me as you posted in the mac forum :) which is why I posted the mac link but the thread I pointed you at gave the PC link

    thanks

Part of the server connectivity problem is that Garmin offers only one server at one location. Those of use who are used to Facebook, Google+, etc. know that you need more than one server in more than one location globally. WAKE UP Garmin!!!

Does anyone know of a direct link to report problems with Garmin Express? GE works just fine for me but every couple of days or so I get a pop-up window on my PC from GE advising that there is a problem with the European Map version 2013.4
The problem was centred around a fault in the Dutch part of the maps which routed users the wrong way down a one-way street and had been reported just about everywhere. Garmin quickly released an updated version of the map so this pop-up advisory is really old hat now and I don't even have that version of the maps on my PC anymore.
If Garmin believe the advisory is still worthwhile, well that's just fine, but I think they should provide a way for users to turn off permanently the advisory once read so that it doesn't keep rearing it's ugly head every other day or so.
  • I'm not getting that. Are you running the latest version of Express? 2.3.18 I believe.

Are you sure the maps aren't still on your PC? Run JaVaWa's GMTK from here to make sure http://www.javawa.nl/gmtk_en.html

Hi Sussamb - Yes, I am running the latest version of GE although the same pop-up appeared in the previous version also. I have run javawa and it only shows that European NT maps 2014.3 is installed along with a TOPO map that I have. There is no mention of the version 2013.4 maps and neither can I locate anything of that nature on my PC. For info, I also ran CCleaner to get rid of any superfluous files on my PC. Attached is a screengrab of the warning pop-up that I refer to. This pop-up appears uninvited from time to time - say every 3-4 days and also whenever I open GR. The orange asterisk is also an indication of this advisory which also opens the critical warning when clicked upon.
  • Not sure what else to suggest

Maybe someone else will have a bright idea,
