edit a route - how to ?

Hi,
Ive just started to use BaseCamp, which is a great idea, but a PITA to use, so I need some help.
Am trying to create a route, and starte by drawing on the map, where exactly I want to drive, it happens sometimes that I end up clicking on the wrong spot, so I press 'delete' to erase the last bit .. but then I dont know
how to continue the route from where I've stopped. There is no 'edit route' or 'continue ' or anything .. so is really, the only solution to erase the route and start over ?!
Id would imagine the people doing this software would have thought about this, so there must be some way to continue drawing on the map, or so to say - continue drawing the route?

Move the end point to where you want the end point then use the insert tool to insert any more waypoints that you want, that's how I do it anyway.

Select the route. select insert tool. When you move the mouse to the current end point it is possible to get a highlighted small black filled circle (not always easy). Select that with a left click and you get the rubber band to extent the route. Also described in help!! Another option is when making a route ignore your errors and just continue. You can than afterwards remove the points from the route.

That's certainly the best way IMO while initially making the route. Course if you want to come back later to extend it you'll need to do what I posted above.

Keep in mind also that if while creating a route using the Route tool, you press "Delete", it will terminate the route-making process. Instead of using Delete, if you click "undo" from the Edit menu, or press ctrl-Z, then it will remove only the last point, which you may have mis-placed, and leave you in the route-making process, ready to place that point correctly, still working on the original route.

That is a good site, with good 'instructions'. However, if you want to learn some 'concepts' about BC and its database, try looking at: http://garmin-mapsource.wikispaces.com/BaseCamp, particularly the Database and Devices pages. I think it will help understand how/why things work the way they do. Disclaimer: I wrote most of that.
