Basecamp 4.0 city name search

There is something awry in the way Basecamp fills out the dropdown list when doing a search for a city.
For example, if you are looking for Greenville, SC and you enter Greenville, the dropdown list will contain 12 Greenvilles but not Greenville,SC.
If you type in Greenville,SC the list will be populated with a single Greenville,SC entry. So the map, CNNT2013.3, knows that Greenville,SC exists.
Is there a limit to the size of the dropdown list?

This is just an example. I've seen this behaviour on several searches.

I think you have already answered your question – 12.

You will get to your result by typing “Greenville, S”. If there were a Greenville in South Dakota; Saskatchewan, Canada; San Louis Potosi, Sinaloa or Sonora, Mexico you would have seen additional entries. However, once you add the “C” there would be only one match.

Sometimes you can gain insight into how a program operates simply by typing different things. For example try typing “greenville,m” and notice the corrections and results. Now try “green bay,w”.

The near field isn’t really a search field. Its purpose is to provide a starting location for the proximity search. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your comment. I guess what I was getting at is why such a low arbitrary limit of 12 items in the list? The list box starts out with a scrollbar but it gets removed when you start entering in the "near" field. Populating the list from the map index should be almost instantaneous so why not expand the list from 12 and use the scrollbar? Using some of the most popular city names in NA such as Franklin or Riverside would only need maybe 30 or so entries in the list.
