Creating route in Base Camp.

Hi,
Just got a new 3490 for christmas, my first Garmin. Installed Base camp and connected to the nuvi, but cannot create routes.
The choice File/new/route is grey and cannot be used.

Hope for some help to a newcomer.

Strange, that's nothing to do with your 3490 (I don't think). Do you get the same result when your 3490 is disconnected?

Yes, but when disconnected I don't see much on the map (only global map)

I suspect BC hasn't installed correctly then. Try re-installing it and see if that fixes it. I can't reproduce your problem on my PC.

Are you trying to create the route directly on the unit from within Basecamp ?
The only way I can get the Route creation tool to be greyed out is if I select the Worldwide Autoroute DEM Map in the column on the left hand side of the screen ....

I select City Navigator Europe NTU 2013.30 that should cover my area.
Re-installing seems to be the next step
