Viewing contents of Internal Storage

I have a number of routes on my Edge 800. I cannot view the contents of Internal Storage within Basecamp.

Using explorer I can find the named routes in the Courses directory on the device.

Not much response so far but this is a real problem for me. As I cannot find the routes stored on my device whilst it's connect to the PC I cannot select any of them for deletion.

Additionaly when I download a route to the device I cannot check that it's there without disconecting from the PC.

The assumption of BC is that you keep copies of your routes/waypoints etc in that program. There's really no need to connect your unit if you do so.

As for deleting routes/waypoints/etc you do that in the device itself. All Garmin units work that way like it or not.

Thanks for that Stuart. I thought I'd be able to manage everything via BC.

No, not all units work that way. You can manage/delete items with BaseCamp on the newer outdoor models like the Montana, GPSMAP 62 and the Oregon 450/550. I guess you never tried it because of your experience with other models...

True enough I hadn't tried it nor did it occur to me to do so. Plus I rarely use BaseCamp anyway.

That said I think the OP will have to delete routes on the Edge 800 rather than through BC.

No, not all units work that way. You can manage/delete items with BaseCamp on the newer outdoor models like the Montana, GPSMAP 62 and the Oregon 450/550. I guess you never tried it because of your experience with other models...

And the new Etrex series.
