Latitude and Longitude Question

I am new to BaseCamp and Garmin GPS's.. I am wanting to create a waypoint in BaseCamp using the latitude/longitude digital degrees, which I have. How do I do this?
For example, I have a lat/lon of 35.80085, 92.96015. When I try to change a waypoints properties, it doesn't like this format...

You need to select decimal degrees in units, seems like you have the wrong lat long format selected.

Click on the "Utilities" menu, then "Options". In the Options window, click the button for "Measurement", then there is section for "Position" which lets you select the grid and datum that you want.

Ok. Just made that change. But now I have another question.. How can you enter the coordinates for a location and have BaseCamp plot this location. I have tried to add a waypoint and edit the position, but that doesn't move the waypoint to the position of the coordinates I just entered...

Hit Ctrl and T, enter the cords and select the waypoint option.

That's odd. If I open the properties of an existing waypoint and edit the lat/long in the "Position" field, it moves right away to the location I entered. Not sure why yours would not...
