Like the title says I'm unable to install basecamp on my new laptop with windows 8, I have the "short cut" on the desktop screen and every time I click the icon it re installs the whole program, instead of just opening up basecamp. Any thoughts?
I have not installed windows 8 OS. But if it works like the other versions, the icon on the desktop is to launch the installation application.
Go to the Start button and look in the program list. Not all applications place an icon on the desktop. Some have a selection to check to do so but not all. If you look in the program list and find an icon right click and hold on the icon and drag it to the desktop and select copy or make an icon on the desktop.
If that doesn't work maybe someone that is running OS 8 can jump in and make a suggestion..
I have just installed it on my laptop running windows 8, went like a charm, no desktop icon is installed with the program, you have to create a shortcut yourself.
