BC very slow when calculating routes

Hi,

I still have a pretty old problem - BC is very slow when calculating a route.
For example today I created 2 waypoints 61km away from each other and created a route... it took from 1 to 3 minutes to calculate it.

My system:
Intel i7, 8gb ram, 2tb hdd with plenty of free space.
Monitoring the CPU during this calculation process it looked like BC is not using it at all.

The problem still persists in BC 4.0.5, I've had it since BC 3.x. I have tried before BC 4.0.5 to uninstall BC, restart computer, install BC again and restart again... no luck.

Anybody has any ideas what could/should I do, what tests or checks to run?
Please ask if you need more tech info...

Thanks,
John.
  • Wow, that is slow, mine creates them pretty much instantaneously. No idea how to help though, sorry :(
  • I just loaded a route from Dallas TX area to just north of San Antonio, 323miles and it did it in about 15 sec.
    I am using an ASUS G73jh,i7, 6g Ram, 500g hdd Windows 7, IE8

I found earlier that my computer was loading Outlook and other programs very slow. I even had a problem with IE8 going to Google. It would just give me a blank page. Ran all the Virus programs I knew and tried to run MS Safety Scanner (If MS plans to connect to your computer you must run this app first) and it would not load. Decided to rebuild the OS and now everything is running very well. You might look into the similar thing and do a rebuild if you know how.

    FWIW

Thanks, I was thinking about that as the last on the list...
Everything else works pretty much fine on the system.
