Too many POI. Too much clutter on screen.

When planning a route, I use the route tool. As I hover over a point, I get way too many POI's and they hang on the screen until I choose one. If I don't want to choose one, and move over to another point, there is a long delay where half a dozen or more POI's are cluttering up the screen.

I went to Utilities/Options and adjusted the Labels to Fewer (fewest) to no avail. I changed the rendering quality to medium and low and noticed no difference.

My comp is fast, a Core I-7 with 16GB ram, fast HDD and video card.

I just want to see fewer choices and for the balloon to disappear more quickly.

You can switch off individual POI categories in the settings of BaseCamp.

Can you remind me how? I did so to turn of marine POIs but cannot find it or get there again!

Hi,
If I may steal this thread too :) - it is ok to disable the POI categories for displaying in BC, but how can I do that for the device itself (zumo 660)?
Its screen is still cluttered with a lot of useless POI icons (bank logos, shopping centres logos and a lot of other useless stuff).

Don't believe you can. Users seem to want different things with POIs, some want more, some less. My 1490 displays them below a certain zoom level, but not above. Sure would be nice if Garmin gave us more choice over how/when to display POIs.
