Hello everybody,
Is there anyone who could be so kind to explain me why sometimes, when I save the tracks, it appears either on my montana and on the basecamp, a long straight line which basically connects my preious excursion (days ago and miles away) with the last one. Is there anyway to delete this line by using the basecamp? Thanks Gluca

You can split the track into two tracks.

In BaseCamp 4.0.5, double click on the track you'd like to split. Find the spot where you'd like to divide the track, right-click and 'Divide'. Or you can use the 'Divide' tool from the Tools menu.
  • And adding to that, having split the track use the divide option again to get rid of the straight line :)

In my experience this occurs when you turn the unit off without disabling/turning off track logging first. When the unit is turned on again (usually some distance away from where it was turned off) is picks up logging at the next location. The straight line is just the shortest path between the two points.

I keep the track log function off until I want to start and turn it off when I'm done. That eliminates the problem (unless you forget).

Of course, as others have said, you can split the track in BaseCamp/MapSource later.
