Elevation Data Not Displayed

It is time for me to show what a Moppet I am. I ride a motorcycle so elevation can be a factor when selecting routes. When I look at my routes (type = CAR) elevation is not displayed nor is it available on GRAPH. I have City Navigator North America NT 2010.4 for my 765T and BaseCamp 4.0.5. I searched the BaseCamp forum and now know about DEM (I may have the acronym wrong) and I am assuimng that my maps don't have it. Is there a map choice that does give me elevation for my route planning?

Garmin's 24k map series includes routable roads like City Navigator and high resolution DEM. These are regional maps however that only cover a few states each. FWIW, I just noticed that GPSCity has a Cyber Monday sale on them.

Garmin's 100k US Topo map has lower resolution DEM, but the roads are not routable so you can't use it to create routes.
