Waypoints not showing on GPS

I don't know if this is in the right section and sorry if it ain't. I am pretty new to Basecamp. I have a RINO 650 GPS and it will not show any waypoints but when I plug into laptop using Basecamp all the waypoints show up on the left under internal storage. How do I get them back into GPS or turn waypoints back on in GPS or send back to GPS. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks for all your help!

    I am glad it worked.

If it happens again, any info that could help us reproduce the issue would be extremely helpful.

    me too in 2015

Tested this again with a 650N with the 2.40 firmware, no issues.

For those that have the BaseCamp transfer fail, please attach the GarminDevice.xml file and the GPX file that BaseCamp writes the waypoints to. It should be in the Garmin\gpx folder on the device, probably the one with the newest time-stamp.

If this is indeed a BaseCamp issue, we will do our very best to fix it, but it's hard to fix something we cannot reproduce.

Have this same issue with a garmin 600t... is there an updated thread you can point me to? My searches aren't turning up a decent match. Thanks! --Matt
  • Perhaps you could explain your problem in a bit more detail? What have you done? What isn't working as expected? Which Garmin 600t do you have?

    Hi

I'm getting the same issue with two GPS units both are Rino 650 devices and I have update the firmware to see if that was the issue.

Neither device will take the waypoints I am trying to upload into them from basecamp using the folder copy, single waypoint copy ect.

After several tries I have managed to upload two tracks but they are pretty useless without the waypoints.

I have uploaded into my other ZUMO 590 GPS with no issues.

The rino's show all my old waypoints and tracks, just not the new ones. I can also create new waypoints from the GPS units them selves.

System I'm using has both USB2 and USB3 ports. Zumo works fine on both, RINOs dont work on either.

Any solution as I don't see any fix for this on the forums going back as far as 2011. I need an urgent fix for this as I am traveling tomorrow and need to have the waypoints on both the GPS before I go.

    Regards

Work around for the RINOs and Basecamp

    So the workround is.

Export the folder with your waypoints from basecamp to a .GPX file.

Manually copy this file to the \garmin\gpx folder on your Rino.

Eject the RINO drive from Windows.

Turn the GPS on. Look at the Waypoints and smile.

Need help with my Etrex 30

I have a route which looks fine in base camp even when I view it in base camp from my device, but when I look at the route on my device it is incomplete. It is for a race I am doing tomorrow can anyone help please. I am new to this forum I don't know if I am posting in the right place! its just taken me 20 minutes to find a way to make a post.
  • I suspect it's because you've exceeded the number of points allowed in a route, which on your model is 250.

Waypoints routed in BaseCamp don't ALL transfer to nuvi 2495

Hello - On a daily basis each summer, I import LOC files into BaseCamp (ver 2.3.1.0) and create delivery runs for staff. I then send this list (including waypoints and routing information) to a Garmin nuvi 2495LMT. When staff began reporting that a location(s) on their paper run was not routed in Garmin, I started checking Apps - Trip Planner - Unscheduled Trips (where these imports reside). Indeed all of the waypoints I routed in BaseCamp do not show up in the nuvi.

Some days, there's no problem ... all of the locations routed in BC are displayed in the nuvi. Other days, the route will be missing 1, 2, or 3 waypoints from the route ... a real pain for staff (and my boss is none too happy either)! I generally route from 10-30 waypoints in one or two runs per day.

Any suggestions for fixing this seemingly tempermental situation? Do I need to blank out all of my previous waypoints/routes from BaseCamp and/or the nuvi? Thanks in advance for the help!

    Andrea :)
  • You're using a very old version of Basecamp but new nuvis. I suggest you update Basecamp to see if the issue persists.

Note also that the 2495 can only have a maximum of 30 waypoints in a route.

    Waypoints not showing in GPS

Thanks for the info on the total number of points a route can hold in the nuvi 2495. I'll start updating my BaseCamp and see if that solves everything. Thanks again! Andrea :)
