Ok. Just bought a Nuvi 50LM. Downloaded Basecamp because I am limited by the roads I can take while towing my camper off of Long Island, NY. (Trailers not allowed on certain roads...height and weight restrictions)
Anyway, I was really hoping that it would be as simple as using Google maps and the "drag to change route" feature which is awesome. Obviously, I was wrong. After some soul searching and video tutorials, I figured out how to make my own route in Basecamp. It even says "Point A to Point B" and the little route icon. Awesome. I the assumed that I could transfer the ROUTE to my Nuvi, not the way points I used to create the route. I have pulled my hair out and am now bald. That I can live with, however, the sinking feeling that I wasted my money on a GPS that I cannot program properly eats at my soul.

Is it me or is it the GPS?

Is it possible to make a route in Basecamp and then have the entire route show up on the GPS?

By the way, what the heck is City navigator North America, and how do I use it to create a route? All the route planning icons are greyed out.

A little help please! I realize that I am typing this in the face of an impending hurricane that may wash Long Island out into the middle of the Atlantic and may not get a response for a few days, but the Zombie Apocalypse is scheduled for December 21 of this year, and I would like to use the GPS for a road trip prior to that.
