Unable to save Track file from Basecamp

Can anyone help? I don’t seem to be unable to save (export) a track file from basecamp.
I have created a route in Basecamp and I can export the gpx file to my harddrive OK. If I create a track directly from this route (via the properties widow options) I can view it OK in Basecamp and all the track points seem to be available. My Collection seems to contain both the route and the track. When I try to export just the track (as a TCX file) all I seem to get on my harddrive is a 1kb file with no data. The exported file name has the .tcx extension.
How do I export this track file out of Basecamp so I have it available on my harddrive and/or on my Edge 705?
I’m using windows and Basecamp 4.0.2

AFAIK a track needs to have timestamps (for each trackpoint); otherwise it cannot be converted to a tcx file (with a course). Because your track was converted from a route, it doesn't contain timestamps.
Use WinGDB3 to convert your track to a course; that program will automatically add timestamps (you can set the speed)

Javawa is correct. We currently only export tracks with time-stamps.
