Relocating Basecamp 4

I've searched around and have come up basically empty except for a two year old thread with no resolution.
Is there an easy known way to relocate Basecamp to another drive?
Another question is why does Garmin insist on always installing to drive C:?

I don't think there is a good way. Theoretically BaseCamp runs from wherever you put it. So you could just move the entire BaseCamp folder somewhere else if you want to.

However, most of the data BaseCamp generates is not in the installation folder. It's in the database folder which is usually on C.

I hope the installer will be changed eventually to let you pick an installation directory. There are also plans to let the user change the database location. I cannot say when this might happen though.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

Could it be that the writer is referring to where BaseCamp maps are installed as those are the really big folders?
If that be the case, the map folder could be relocated, then a link created to its new location. (With Win7, move the Garmin map product in C:\ProgramData\Maps\ to some other folder or drive or partition; then in its new location, right click that folder and create a link; then move that link back to C:\ProgramData\Maps\)
