Adding KMZ map

Hello,

I'm new to Base Camp software and need some help please.

I saved a map from Google Earth as a KMZ file but can't import it into Base Camp.

I used File/Import into My Collection... Then browsed to the KMZ file, clicked on it, the browse window closes but nothing turn up in the My Collection Panel? Did it a few times. No luck. This is what I understand the help file to say to do.

Any ideas what I should do?

This highly depends on the content of the kmz file. Could you try to attach it here? Or share it via Skydrive/Dropbox etc. and send me a personal message?

Then I can take a look and can hopefully tell you what's wrong.

Falagar certainly knows more about this than I do, but to add something he didn't mention, I'm pretty sure that BaseCamp, or raster graphics GPSrs, don't support vector (line and point) KMZ files. They do support raster graphic (like jpeg) files.

works perfectly well (BC 4.1.1) on my machine
great to know it's so easy to open kmz directly with BC
