combine profiles in single route

In basecamp I was able to realise an off-road section in a normal, street following. routing route.
This could be done by finishing the route with normal routing option adn then switching temporarily to "direct" routing and modify the relevant section to go offroad as required.
I've used it for real off road sections but also to navigate across map-glitches.

This same trick in BC, switching the profiles, does not work.
Is there another way to get a direct section in a route with a different profile?

A trick would be to switch to the global map for the off-road section of the route. But that's really just hack, recalculation breaks the route, and I am not sure if the devices support this.

recalculcation also breaks my hacked routes using MS.
Zumo 660 did accept them.
I'll give the basemap trick a go to see if it works.

Any plans for formal multiprofile route options?

We have this on our list of possible future improvements, but there are no concrete plans at this time.
