Transferring routes from Basecamp to 50LM GPS

I am a Basecamp newbie and have generated a route which I have dragged and dropped to my connected 50LM GPS. I named the route "Route_1". When I disconnected the GPS and powered it up "Route_1" appears in my Favorites list with the correct waypoints. However, the route did not appear on the map display. I expected the route to appear as I created it in Basecamp. Am I missing something or is this the way it is supposed to work?

I've answered this in your other thread, your nuvi 50 isn't capable of importing routes :)

The 50LM doesn't support routes.

Look for a nuvi with routes>0 but be aware that not even that guarantees that you can send routes to your nuvi using Basecamp or any other program. The 22xx and 23xx series while they can create routes (or rather trips but that's another story :)) on the GPS they can't read routes/trips sent to them by BC.

The 25xx series will work. Note though that any 'route' sent from Basecamp or any other program will be converted to a 'trip' as the newer nuvis use what Garmin call a 'trip planner' rather than the older style (that many prefer) of 'route planner'.

FYI units that have spec's saying they support routes < 100 (and > 0 obviously) support traditional "routes". Others support "trips".
