BC 4.0.1 and City Navigator 2012.1

Coinicidence or...?

After updating BC to v4.0.1, City Navigator North America NT 2012.1 causes an error message when I select it from the maps dropdown and disappears from the list. If I disconnect the GPS from the PC and re-connect, City Navigator will re-appear on the list and produce the error message. Before the update, City Navigator was available in BC.

In BC under "Devices" City Navigator is listed. If I right click and select open, the error message appears and under it the various copyright notices and no printing advisory. City Navigator disappears from the maps drop down list.

City Navigator is resident on my GPSMAP 62s and functions normally on the device. The GPS was recently updated to v4.4.0 to support "Adventures".

Same problem here with North american maps:

City Navigator North America NT 2013.2
CN North America NT 2013.20 3D
North America DEM

The error message is:

"An error occured when attempting to use the <ONE OF THE 3 MAP NAMES> Map Product."

I have a 3590LMT with North American Maps on the device.

Same here with the Recreational Map of Europe.

The funny part is, that it is workinng on my "vintage" Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook with Windows XP.

I downgraded to Basecamp 3.3.3 and got the map to show again.

Thanks for reporting. There is clearly something broken. We should have that fixed for 4.0.2.

BC 4.0.1 is showing the CNNANT 2013.2 that I downloaded to my computer and 1490LMT just fine from both the direct download and the Nuvi. My OS is Win7-64.

I get two map windows; one for the "global map" and one for the CNNA 2013.20. If I click on the "global map" option, I get a single window, but not if I try to use CNNA.

I found the issue; I had the map view set to "both" rather than 3D or 2D.

If your device map doesn't get shown in BaseCamp, close BaseCamp, delete the card product cache and start BaseCamp again.

For me, the card product cache is at C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Garmin\BaseCamp\CardProductCache.

FALAGAR...
Deleting the "card product cache" seems to have taken care of the problem noted in my original post.
When I re-connected the 62s the folder was re-built and City Navigator displays properly now.
