Restoring backup

I create backups of Basecamp on a regular basis (File > Backup). Now I want to restore (File > Restore) a backup, but I end up with an 'empty' Basecamp list. The back-up file Basecamp.Backup has a size of 114 Mb.
FYI the backup takes a few minutes to complete, the restore is just a matter of seconds. And yes, the backup file is created with the same version of BaseCamp as the version I am restoring to.
BTW, when I create a new backup after the restore, the new backup file has a size of 58 Mb, even when the list is empty.

What is going wrong (ow what am I doing wrong?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I am losing some hundred hiking tracks ...

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Basecamp program (v3.3.3) and managed to restore from the backup file.
The problem seems to be solved (at least for now), however, I am curious about what caused the problem…

That is odd. You should be able to restore even if the versions don't match. I am not sure why it didn't work initially, and it's hard to tell without being able to look at what really happened.

But I am glad you got it to work. Thanks for keeping this thread updated.
