Geocaches shown as code and not by name in routes

Hi there,

I want to use BaseCamp to plan some cycle trips.
So I imported some geocaches and placed them into a route.

As you can see, the caches in the route are displayed by their Geocaching Code. Thereby changing the routte it is very difficult to know which geocache it really is.

Is there a way to display the geocache name rather than the code in the route?

Thanks for reporting this.

I think this should be the name as well. I'll see if I get that changed. This might not make it into the 4.0 release though.

Although I couldn't find it has been fixed in the changelog for Basecamp 4.0.1, it seems to been fixed.

On the GPS device (Dakota 20) the names for the geocache waypoints still only contain the GC code. Is there a way this also could contain the Geocache names?
Normal waypoints (not geocaches) does contain their name.

Geocaches are actually waypoints with extra data attached to it. The name of such a waypoint is the GC code; the 'friendly' name is defined somewhere else in the additional data (with the tag {groundspeak:name})
I guess this is complicating things, because only the waypoint names are stored in the route, not the additional info.

This is the waypoint list on your Dakota? Normally geocaches never show up in the waypoint list (only in the geocache menu)...
Probably the geocaches are exported as regular waypoints along with the route, not as proper geocaches with their additional data.

A lot to do for the BaseCamp team...

No, this is the route-list.
Geocaches, are stored with their normal names into the Geocaching section.
Only child-WP's are stored into the WP-list.
