import gpx to base camp 3.3.3, unknown error ..help!

Help! I am unable to import (into Base Camp, PC version 3.3.3) gpx files from myswitzerland.com - this is official tourism site for switzerland with many great hikes available - not some random site. When I try to import I receive the following: Status = 'Error' Details = 'Unknown error opening import file'. Link is http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/interests/hiking1/seasonal-hiking/hiking-in-the-summer/eiger-trail-the-swiss-alpine-experience-trail.html . I have compared the gpx file to others that I have successfully imported - there seemed to more decimals in the lat / long coordinates but I trimmed those and still no luck. I can manipulate / edit any file but not sure what is wrong with the files from this site ... any ideas ? Leaving on Monday 7/23 .... help! Thanks so much! :)
You can validate it yourself at http://www.validome.org/xml/ to find out what's wrong with it. It had a bad header (I just replaced it with one from a gpx file BaseCamp wrote), it had a bunch of empty elements (ele, time) that aren't allowed to be empty, and it had a sym element in the wrong place. Kinda scary that there are programs out there that write just horrible (and outright wrong) gpx.
