Garmin 62s + BaseCamp Elevation Data in Routes

Hi,

Hoping someone can help advise. I have a GPSMap 62s device (firmware 4.30) with BaseCamp (v 3.3.3) and am trying to view the elevation plot of my custom made routes.

I have UK 1-50k mapes with elevation data loaded onto the device.

When browsing the route's elevation plot on the device I get "Route Calculation Error". This is very frustrating. When I browse the route on BaseCamp, I can see the route with elevation data.

To create the route I am using BaseCamp with DEM data to produce a GPX file that I then copy to the device's GPX folder.

Browsing the GPX file using a text editor I can see that elevation data is present in the following XML elements for each way point, e.g.:

<ele>172</ele>

If I convert the route to a track then reupload to the device I can browse the elelvation plot with no error message.

Can anyone else reproduce the problem by creating their own routes?

Thanks,
Ben.
