Problems resetting device

Hi,

I'm trying to get rid of all addresses on my GPS (Nuvi 40LM). I did a full device reset (Settings->Restore), then mounted the device on my PC and deleted the .gpx files and rebooted. The problem is that the old addresses are still there in my Favorites.

Is there any way to clear all the addresses I type in, other then manually deleting each?

Not sure about the 40 but you should be able to do something like Tools>My data>Delete Favourites>Select all ;)

Yes, you will have to delete the favorites on the device.

Deleting gpx files on non-user-data-sync devices (like your Nuvi) will not delete any data. You can only add new stuff via gpx devices, and the device advertises its internal data with current.gpx.
