Problems Locating Exact Addresses

Hi,

I'm a new user with Basecamp. I have a Nuvi 40LM. I'm trying to type in an address into Basecamp and then transfer that to my GPS device.

Here's what I'm doing exactly:

In the Find input box, I select Address
In the 'near' input box, I type the name of the city
In the 'containing' input box, I type the address

The problem is this: it then finds a dozen or so addresses with 20 miles of the exact address I type, but it doesn't find that exact address.

However, I would like it to find that exact address so that I can then select it and then transfer to my GPS. Why am I doing this? Because it is easier to use a computer keyboard and mouse then the GPS touchscreen.

Can anyone help?

Try typing less of the address as often 'less is more'. If you type what you think is the exact address and it's not 100% correct Basecamp won't find it.

If for example the address is 49 Peters Street but BC has it as 49 Peter's Street it won't pop up, just put in Peter as the address and all addresses with 'Peter' in should come up so you can select the correct one.

Thanks for the reply but I still need help with this.

I did try your suggestion, in fact, but it didn't help. Sometimes it finds addresses hundreds of miles away. And, I tried many different addresses.

Can you give an example of an address which you know works with your device?

Even if I could we'd possibly need to be using the same mapset, which map do you have installed?
