Creating a new folder at the "my collection" level

I would like to change the "my collection" folder to a year specific folder (change the name of the folder). Then add a new folder with the current year, which will be the a new collection. Is that possible? Does that make sense?
  • Don't believe there is any way you can rename the 'My collection' folder. Not sure if this'll come in any future updates?

You could though simply add a folder into My Collection and make that a year specific folder?

Not remove but change the name of the folder. This must be a "root" level folder. Would like to have a top level folder and arrange by year. Each folder below that is divided by transportation mode (MTB, BMW, Hiking, flying, moto, etc).

    Thanks for helping.
  • I didn't say remove, I said rename ;)

I can see what you want to do ... and I'd do what I suggest, just create a folder in My Collection named 2012 and then create lists within that folder.

Getting too many folders. Taxing my small brain.

Creating a new folder at the "my collection" level

But, remember, you can export files as .gpx transfer files.

Thus when I'm all done off roading in an area, and won't be using my data for a while, I export it to a folder on my Laptop using an appropriate name.

Then I can "remove" all that data from My Collection, and import it back whenever I choose.

The only bummer I learned the "hard way" was that you can export a "list file" or "list folder"...but it doesn't include the pictures taken that are part of that "project".

So I have to go through and save the pictures to a folder in the same place as my transfer file will be, then I have it all.

This keeps "My Collection" a lot cleaner and you don't have to lose anything.

ROOSTER5488-thanks for posting. I tried your suggestion and thankfully I backed up my collection before I tried your suggestion. I messed everything up. LOL. I guess that the "my collection" folder has to be the root folder and that I should, as suggested above-have a folder marked by year and a sub folder marked by discipline. Thanks again for posting.
