Tool bar/grayed icons?

There are several icons in the tool bar eg. "insert" I'd like to use but they are grayed out so I can't highlight and use.

Is this a premium feature or something?

Different functions will become active based on what you have selected. If you select a track in the "Data View" (bottom left pane), then you should be able to use the insert button.
