Where do comments go?

Out for a day of geocaching with an etrex 30 and after marking the status of a geocache, I used the "Add Comment" option to enter a short note. I thought it would be useful info when I got back home and logged the finds. I cannot find any way to call that up either on the device or in Basecamp. Where does that get saved? I can't find any options to display Comments on the etrex or in BaseCamp.

When you log the finds on geocaching.com select 'Upload field notes' and follow the instructions. You can then see your comments when you're logging the cache ;)

Ah, there they are! Thanks! Seems really strange that I can't see them on the device or in BaseCamp, though.

On my Oregon 450 I seem to recall seeing the files in the Garmin Directory using Win Explorer - look for the files called geocache_visits.txt and geocache_logs.xml

Don't know if it's the same for your unit though....

It is ... so you could certainly view them that way also.

BaseCamp will allow you to log your finds (including the comment) automatically to OpenCaching.com for OpenCaches as soon as you connect the device to BaseCamp.

GeoCaching.com doesn't have an open API that we could use, so we cannot do that for non-OpenCaches.
