I have a need to see county (parishes in LA) lines on the maps but I cannot see them at all in either BaseCamp or MapSource. Is there something I can do to make the county lines show up?
I'm not sure they are included in CNNANT, if that's what you're using. I just tried zooming in to a 1 mile zoom on my county line, in both BaseCamp and MapSource and I don't see anything. Detail set to highest in both viewers. State boundaries show up, however.
You can check out this site to see if your state in on their list that includes plat mapping for individual properties with owners names listed as well as section boundaries and county lines or their BLM maps should have county lines as well as private or public lands which do not name the owners of private lands but it gives you the boundaries, sections and county lines. These maps are not cheap, but I use them for hunting and other outdoor activities to make sure I'm not trespassing. They also have an overlay for Google Earth to use on your PC so you can view it via satellite photos. To me they are well worth the investment.
BaseCamp and MapSource recognize the same vector maps. Only BaseCamp recognizes raster maps, however. And while the map you link to is "transparent", and will overlay another map on a GPSr, all you will see in MapSource or BaseCamp is the single map of county borders.
