Basecamp Route Problems Or is it the Nuvi 2555

I create a custom route in basecamp upload to my Nuvi2555. Go to "trip Planner" find route. I am past the starting point of the route and I select the route I made and click on "GO" at this point I get a list of starting points. If I choose the final destination it wants to take a different route to reach that point. I have to select the next waypoint in the route to get it to continue on the original route and it only shows that waypoint to its end. To continue on the route each time it completes the current waypoint it then displays the next way point until it's end. In my old Nuvi 960 I would always get "do you want to navigate to the starting point" I would answer "No" and it would calculate from that point on to my destination. Is this a Basecamp issue or a Nuvi 2555 issue and how do I correct it.

It is a Nuvi issue. Anybody, myself included, that bought a unit with Trip Planner, is stuck and have the same problem. It doesn't look like Garmin will change the firmware and fix the problem.
One more time Garmin has stuck it to us!!!
I wish I had known of this issue before I bought my unit. My hope is that people will see these posts and stay away from Garmin.

    Route problem fix

I had the same problem and started to look for a solution when I found this thread and was waiting for a replay.
During that time, I looked further into BC's HELP. They stated that they were 2 ways to transfer BC data to the Garmin, I have a 2455 by the way.
#1 is the EXPORT method that kept giving me gave me the broken route problem, as described.
#2 was the "Edit - Send to" Option. I routed a 500 mile back-road route to Boone, NC on BC and transferred to the Nuvi. The route, on the Nuvi, appears continues and correct.
I will be leaving tomorrow on my trip and will let you know in a couple of days.:)

#2 is definitely what you should do. Alternatively, you can just drag and drop the route from 'My Collection' to the device.

Exporting is not the same as sending (at least not always). Make sure to always use option #2, BaseCamp will figure out where the device wants the routes and put them in the correct place.

    Nuvi's Trip Planner

If you use # 2, the unit's Trip Planner will ignore any shaping (via) points you may have created in Basecamp and just use your starting and ending point. This is why it looks like a continuous trip.
I haven't been able to find a way to create a file and have the unit do the route from start to finish without breaking it into basically a route to every shape point.
We have to face it, Trip Planner stinks to high heavens!!!
