Reversing routes - Basecamp vs Montana

I'm trying to find out if the following is intentional behaviour between Basecamp and the Montana. Both are at latest revisions.

If I create a route simply using two waypoints in Basecamp and send it to the Montana I cannot edit or reverse the route using the Route Planner on the Montana since the buttons are not shown. If I create the same route on the Montana using the same two waypoints the Edit and Reverse route buttons are displayed.

Does Basecamp embed something in the gpx file to say the route is read-only?

I don't think so. I'd let product support know, and they can forward this to the Montana team.

Well, actually with BC 3.3.3 and Montana 4.10, if you set BC activity to Direct before uploading (set it to anything to play with the route). it will be editable and reversible on the Montana.

Then, when using it on the Montana, if you set activity to automobile for instance, if the map used at the moment is routable, it will recalc on the Montana.

Hint: avoidances must be set the same on BC and Montana or the recalc will not produce what you want. (This is from the !!268!! page ADVRider thread on the Montana)

I just stumbled onto the ADVRider forum and the Montana thread. I think that someone has condensed the Montana thread and is offering to e-mail it to others. I'll need to follow up on that. There is a lot of info over there.

Now, I just need to remember to reset to Direct before sending to the Montana
