Export to TCX is faulty

I use BaseCamp 3.3.3 for Windows in Dutch
I have an Edge 605.

I have in BaseCamp a manually created track and want to export that track to the Edge directly into the Course directory using the TCX format.

If the Edge can handle this, i don't know, because the saved TCX file is empty, except for some header information.

See the attachment for the original GPX and the exported TCX file.

(Mac version BaseCamp has the same problem it seems)
  • It isn't bug it is a feature. Illogical feature in my opinion. Take a look here.

Yes, I thought something like this; time is missing, so the course info is not complete. But then I expect a warning, with something like: No time information in the track, we cannot create this file.

And not an empty file. Error handling could be better in this case.Workarounds are WinGDB3 or gpsies.com website as I know and use.

I was only surprise that the file is generated without any warning and have used the search on this forum first, but did not find anything.

Feature request for adding the question to add time (an avarage time) to the track during saving as a course?

This is on our list, but I wouldn't count on this feature to appear very soon.

Time when it is ready is not important in this case because wingdb3 is excellent complement for basecamp. When you implement this feature please do it at least at the level wingdb do it - the way how crosses are announced in tcx files generated from wingdb are perfect.
