New member here but long time Garmin user and got spoiled with MapSource routing features :D
BaseCamp instead .... :eek: seems to lack the road features that kept me using the Garmin products.
Sure BaseCamp can be awesome tool for hickers and other short distance activities but seems to one of the worst tools for long distace routing, with long distance I mean 1000 mile trips some people like we do.
No avoidance and I haven't seen the "insert route section" either
Screenshot is from MapSource route on I-70W from Denver towards Salt Lake City.
With MapSource I was able to use the insert route section and just click and drag the route to road I knew was usable (closures, road work, condition) and with such long distance I do not want to use the waypoints as I would end up having maybe 10 or 20 waypoints cluttering the favorites.
With MapSource I only had the start and end points and what ever POI elsewhere, no waypoint to sort through so why would I want to go back to my eTrex time with punch of waypoints to make route?
So how does it work on BaseCamp and is there anything similar to "insert route section"?
