How can I import a waypoint symbol from my gpsmap 62s and use it with basecamp.

I thought you could do this by exporting the waypoint symbol from your device using Garmin's xImage app, then re-name the symbol and add it to the custom waypoints folder. I don't have my win box running right now so I can't check.

xImage is an old app and only supports a few (older) devices.

That said most newer units allow you to capture screens so one could do that and copy the symbols into a image editor and then BaseCamp as custom symbols.

I tried xImage on my eTrex and it will allow you to pull any of the 24 custom waypoints it supports (which are currently just magenta squares).

Ah, that makes sense. It's been awhile since I played with it.

xImage will not work with a 62S (what the OP has).

It does work with the 60C and 76C series and the eTrex HC series and a few others. But again it does not support newer models.
