How do I transfer waypoints from BaseCamp to my Nuvi?

So I created a bunch of waypoints in BaseCamp (195). It was VERY easy and I love it! So from within BaseCamp I dragged my list to my microsd card. It shows up on the card as Waypoints.gpx, but when I turn on my Nuvi (1450LMT) I can't find them. How do I get the waypoints to show up on my Nuvi via the sd card? I want to be able to move them between my 1450 and my 550. Thanks.

Lou

P.S. I found that if I move them directly to the GPS and not the card that it works, but I want to be able to move the card between devices with the information on it.

Most devices should read any gpx file in the garmin\gpx folder on the device. Unfortunately, it seems like your 1450 doesn't.

I will poke the device guys, but it might be a while till that gets fixed.

Can you try renaming the file to Temp.gpx?

Also, can you attach your device's GarminDevice.xml file? Maybe it will have some hint as to what the 1450 expects.
  • Seems to be working now. I insert the card and turn on the GPS (both the 1450 and the 550) and select Where To>Favorites and then the category I created and they're there. I remove the card and they're still there. Looking at the Current.gpx file in the Garmin\GPX folder, I see that they've been imported. Not exactly what I wanted, but it works.

I think this is the way the Nuvi works, regardless of whether your waypoints were originally on a card or in internal memory. When the device starts up, it imports the waypoints from the .gpx file. Afterwards, you could delete all the .gpx files but the nuvi would still retain the waypoints internally, in a part of memory that you cannot directly access.
