Can base camp show me points of interest near my current route?

I would like to select a point of interest e.g. parks and have base camp show me which parks are near the route I have created. Then I can select the ones I want and create waypoints and include them in my route. The old Map & Go program had this capability.
Not really. What you are looking for is to search "along" a Route or Track with some parameter for distance on each side to search within. The older Streetpilot's use to support such a "search along route" option.
If you do an Advanced Search in BaseCamp and enter the name of your Route or Track in the "near" field and nothing in the "Search for: Name" field, BC will search for data (POI's if you set that as a filter) around the center point of the length of a Route or Track - not very useful.
I've always wished my eTrex could list POIs along the active route, and in the direction of travel. Instead, it lists them by distance in a full radius. Maybe I'm willing to go 40 miles for gas, if it is en route and skip those behind me or several miles off my route.
