Making a list for routes...

I have been learning to use Basecamp (3.3.3) to travel in our 5th wheel RV.
I have many waypoints created and routes. To help keep the list easier to read and keep track I made a list named Routes.

When I moved the routes into the list it also copied all the waypoints as well. Is there a way to keep them seperate from the waypoints?

I am trying to work with BaseCamp and find many features that I like. However there are many things about BaseCamp that make it difficult for users to work with it in a manner that they understand or are familiar with.

I really don't like all the waypoints and routes in one file. It is like putting all of my email in one folder then trying to find only certain emails.

No, but down at the bottom of the lists, to the right of the search window, there is a tiny little blue thing that looks like an electric plug of some sort. If you click it, it will show filters for routes, waypoints, imagery, etc.

Clicking on any one of those will show only that category in that list.

BC for Win, I dunno about Mac.
  • I figured that but thanks, the filter does make it a bit easier.

I have found one thing.. I can copy my waypoints back and forth between BaseCamp and MapSource by just having both applications open and do a copy and paste.

You might play around with converting routes to tracks and see if that helps.... and depending on the device you transfer to whether it gives you any benefits by "misusing" them for your purposes.
