I have a lot of Basecamp Data sorted into different collections in "My Locations" and have sent all this info to my 62S by dragging and dropping.
What if I only want to view ONE COLLECTION (ie:"Folder") in my GPS unit?
In the root directory, create a folder named something other than "Garmin". I have one called backup on the SD card. The 62s and Basecamp will not "see" that folder. You will have to use a computer to move things around though. Once I had some routes and waypoints created I simply moved them back and forth as needed without the need to have Basecamp installed (at work, a friend's computer, etc.). Keep in mind you are still using space on the SD card
I started doing this when I first got the 62s because I was more comfortable using the Windows Explorer environment than Basecamp. I still do use Windows to move existing routes and waypoints between folders on the device.
